Envy took hold of me when I read about these sauce-injected McNuggets because, hey, chicken nuggets! And also because, damn, McDonald’s in the U.S. has eight kinds of dips for their chicken nuggets?
So the next day, I decided to try Jollibee’s latest offering: Chicken Nugget Crunchers, which promised “crunchy goodness in every bite” as well as a good dose of vitamin A. I ended up ordering the five-nugget meal that comes with rice (no surprise there) and a drink, which cost P99.
I assume the vitamin A comes from the carrot bits included inside each chicken nugget. Sadly, this was all the carrot I was able to locate in my first piece, as well as in the succeeding pieces.
The verdict? It tasted like a less flavorful version of the Chicken Joy, and Tj goes as far to say that they’re somewhat similar to Purefoods’ frozen chicken nuggets. I kind of feel cheated as well, since the posters proudly seem to display a barbecue dip with the nuggets. Instead, I got Jollibee’s usual gravy. Overall, there’s nothing wildly exceptional about the Chicken Nugget Crunchers. Call it a simple meal that can fill you up for the day.
